Metro Detroit Christmas Tree Farm Photos
This year I worked with two families to capture some love at a local Christmas Tree farm! The lighting was absolutely perfect, and there was even a little snow left on the ground from a few days before.
Where to Take Christmas Tree Farm Photos in Michigan
There are a few Christmas tree farms in the Metro Detroit area. The most popular are probably Blakes and Addison Oaks Christmas Tree Farm, which is where I took these photos featured in this post. This is a small, family-owned farm with plenty of trees and space so you don't have to worry about running into others or being in the way when taking family pictures at a tree farm. We booked during a weekday before Thanksgiving, so we didn't have to worry about crowds.
Christmas Family Photo Ideas
After you have booked a Christmas tree farm with your photographer, you want to start doing some research on poses and outfits for your family. One family I worded with brought some garland and ornaments to hang on the trees. This allowed the kids to have an activity other than smiling at the camera, and it also created for unique photos that are different than every other Christmas Tree farm picture.
With every family I work with, I add movement or games to help create natural movement and expressions. Walking, skipping, and tossing kids up in the air are always fun prompts for families!
