The Treasury

Pontiac, Michigan wedding venue

As a Detroit wedding photographer, the Treasury is a dreamy place to shoot! It's an historic building with SO many unique features. This venue allows you to capture unique moments and images for your wedding day. From the details in the ceiling to the vault in the basement, you will never run out of details to capture and things to explore!

In this post, I'm sharing some of my favorite features of this Detroit wedding venue and some of my favorite shots from working there. This is one of my all-time favorite locations, and I reccomend it to any bride searching for a unique wedding venues in Michigan!

Bridal Portraits

I love working with both brides and grooms, but bridal portraits are definitely some of my favorites to capture here at the Treasury. The building has a beautiful bridal suite that overlooks downtown Pontiac. The large windows make it a great place for taking bridal photos with natural light.

I also believe it's important to give the bride her moment on were wedding day. After all, you've spent so much time planning the event and picking out every details, so why not take time to capture it all? In all of my wedding photography, I aim to take some solos of the bride and pump her up for the big day and give her that time to just celebrate and take it all in!

When photographing brides, I want to capture every details, from the dress to the shoes and the hair. I like to show off the wedding dress with movement as well. This is the day you've been waiting for, so let's have fun and document it!

The Vault

The Treasury's iconic vault is probably the most photographed place in the building. It used to be a working vault when the bank was still active. It's fairly large, so you have some room to move around and try different poses. I love doing some posed photos here. I thing the reflective metal of the safes really adds drama to the shot and can give you a classic photo you want to hang on your wall from your wedding day!

I am a photographer who likes working with flash, so you'll often see my using direct or on camera flash in these photos. This helps bring out the details of not only the venue, but the bride's dress as the lights bounces off all the metal and around the vault. The flash also adds to the classic feel of photos, which I think matches the theme of the venue so much!
